All Is Lost (2013)

Written and directed by J.C. Chandor, All Is Lost stars Robert Redford as a lone sailor whose yacht is badly damaged in the Indian Ocean. With communication lost and worsening weather closing in, he must rely on practical skill, endurance and increasingly limited resources to stay alive. The film is an almost dialogue-free survival drama built around isolation, seamanship and one man’s struggle against the elements.
