Apollo 13 (1995)

Directed by Ron Howard, Apollo 13 stars Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon and Bill Paxton as the astronauts aboard NASA’s troubled 1970 moon mission. Based on Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Kluger’s book Lost Moon, the film dramatizes the Apollo 13 crisis, the work of Mission Control and the fight to bring the crew safely back to Earth. It won Academy Awards for Best Film Editing and Best Sound.
