Directed by Philip Leacock, Appointment in London (1953), also released as Raiders in the Sky, stars Dirk Bogarde, Ian Hunter, Dinah Sheridan and William Sylvester in a British World War II drama set within an RAF Bomber Command squadron in 1943. Based on a story by John Wooldridge, himself a former RAF bomber pilot, the film follows a wing commander attempting to complete his final operational tour while the pressure of nightly bombing raids weighs on the squadron. It combines wartime aviation, RAF bomber missions and personal drama.
