Blow (2001)

Directed by Ted Demme and starring Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz and Ray Liotta, Blow tells the story of George Jung and his rise from marijuana smuggler to a major figure in the American cocaine trade. His involvement with Colombia’s Medellín Cartel brings enormous wealth before betrayal, arrests and addiction contribute to his downfall. The film is based on Bruce Porter’s true-crime book about Jung’s life.
