Bluebeard (1972)

Directed by Edward Dmytryk, Bluebeard stars Richard Burton as Baron Kurt von Sepper, a wealthy aristocrat whose new wife discovers the fate of the women who came before her. Raquel Welch, Virna Lisi and Joey Heatherton co-star in a loose 1970s adaptation of the Bluebeard folktale, mixing gothic horror, black comedy, serial-wife murder and European exploitation atmosphere. The film features music by Ennio Morricone and an international cast in a period-set tale of marriage, secrets and murder.
