Under filmcensurens barbariska storhetstid i början av 1980-talet var Video Invest det mest djärva och ökända videobolaget. Deras filmer var mycket värre än alla andras, vilket orsakade polisrazzior i Sveriges videobutiker. De 26 beslagtagna VHS-titlarna förstördes och bolaget gick i konkurs. Nu är filmerna tillbaka! I oklippta originalversioner och digitalt restaurerade.

Tre New York-studenter beger sig av till Amazonas för att motbevisa myten om kannibaler och blir ofrivilliga gäster hos två efterlysta knarksmugglare. Med våld och mord håller de urbefolkningen i schack, men snart börjar de hungra efter hämnd – och människokött!

Cannibal Ferox blev den första Video Invest-titeln att fällas enligt den då nya videovåldslagen. Tillsammans med Cannibal Holocaust är detta den mest ökända kannibalfilmen och totalförbjöds i ett flertal länder.

Filmens regissör, Umberto Lenzi, var den som ”uppfann” kannibalgenren 1972 med Man from Deep River. På menyn finns skådespelare som Giovanni Lombardo Radice (Cannibal Apocalypse) samt Lenzi-bekantingen Robert Kerman som hade stora roller även i Cannibal Holocaust och Lenzis Omänsklig fasa, men främst är känd som porrstjärnan Richard Bolla.

CANNIBAL FEROX aka ‘Make Them Die Slowly’, topped the official Video Nasty list for its raw graphic scenes of torture, mutilations, murder and cannibalism. This new 2K restoration additionally features new grading which revives, for the 1st time, the original edgy look of the 16mm film stock it was shot on – finally presenting the film as it was first created by director Umberto Lenzi, on location in the Amazonian green inferno.
