Cannibal Terror (1980)

Directed by Alain Deruelle, Cannibal Terror is a French-Spanish cannibal exploitation horror film from the early 1980s. The story follows criminals who kidnap a wealthy couple’s young daughter and hide near jungle territory where a cannibal tribe becomes part of the threat. The film belongs to the European cannibal-horror cycle, with kidnapping, sleaze, jungle danger and low-budget exploitation violence at its centre.

Low-budget 1980s horror directed by Alain Deruelle. Small-time cons Mario and Roberto (Antony Mayans and Tony Fontaine) decide, along with a female companion, to kidnap a young girl and hide out at the home of a friend who lives in the jungle. However, after Mario rapes his friend's wife he is tied to a tree and left to be eaten by the cannibals that live in the jungle. The wife also lets the parents of the hostage know where she is being held, and Roberto and colleagues have to not only flee the flesh-eating natives but also the authorities.
