Cape Fear (1962)

Directed by J. Lee Thompson and based on John D. MacDonald’s book The Executioners, Cape Fear stars Gregory Peck as lawyer Sam Bowden and Robert Mitchum as Max Cady, an ex-convict who begins stalking Bowden and his family after being released from prison. Polly Bergen and Lori Martin co-star in a psychological thriller built around intimidation, revenge and escalating threats against the family.
