Directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, [REC]² continues the Spanish horror franchise immediately after the events of REC as a tactical police unit enters the quarantined apartment building in Barcelona. Combining found footage horror, infection panic and survival-driven terror, the film expands the outbreak mythology through military intervention and escalating supernatural revelations. The story blends claustrophobic confinement, violent infected attacks and handheld-camera horror within one of the defining European horror franchises of the 2000s.
