John Wick (2014)
Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick stars Keanu Reeves as a retired contract killer drawn back into the criminal underworld after the son of a Russian crime boss attacks him and steals his car. His pursuit of revenge brings him into conflict with Viggo Tarasov, played by Michael Nyqvist, while revealing a hidden network of assassins governed by its own rules and institutions. The film combines close-quarters combat, stylised gunplay and underworld mythology in the first chapter of the John Wick series.
John Wick: Chapter 2
Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 2 stars Keanu Reeves as the retired assassin forced to honour a blood oath owed to Italian crime lord Santino D’Antonio. Sent to Rome to eliminate Santino’s sister, John becomes the target of assassins from across the international underworld when a contract is placed on his life. The sequel expands the Continental, the High Table and the criminal code governing the franchise while combining martial arts, gun-fu and large-scale one-man-army action.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum
Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum begins moments after John Wick is declared excommunicado and a global contract is placed on his life. Keanu Reeves returns as the hunted assassin, while Halle Berry joins the series as Sofia, a former associate who helps him seek a way back into the world governed by the High Table. The film expands the international assassin network with large-scale gun-fu, martial arts and a sustained pursuit through New York, Casablanca and the criminal underworld.
