Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Nicolas Cage and Sam Rockwell, Matchstick Men is a character-driven crime film centered on professional con artists operating at the margins of legality and trust. The story balances carefully structured cons with a personal narrative involving family, vulnerability, and deception. Blending crime mechanics with understated humor and emotional stakes, the film explores identity, control, and manipulation without leaning on traditional action tropes.
