Written and directed by Clive Barker, Hellraiser follows Julia Cotton after the mutilated remains of her former lover Frank are revived in the attic of her family’s home. As Julia helps him restore his body, her stepdaughter Kirsty discovers a puzzle box that opens a passage to the Cenobites, led by Doug Bradley’s Pinhead. Based on Barker’s The Hellbound Heart, the British horror film combines graphic body transformation, forbidden desire and an otherworldly realm where pain and pleasure are inseparable.
