Directed by Brian Gibson, Poltergeist II: The Other Side reunites JoBeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson, Heather O’Rourke and Zelda Rubinstein as the Freeling family continues to face the supernatural forces that destroyed their home. Their haunting is revealed to be connected to Reverend Kane, played by Julian Beck, the leader of a religious cult whose followers died beneath the family’s former neighbourhood. With the help of Native American spiritual guide Taylor, the Freelings must protect Carol Anne and confront the entity pursuing her from the other side. The second Poltergeist film expands the original’s ghost story through occult horror, possession and supernatural family terror
