Directed by Paul Verhoeven, RoboCop stars Peter Weller as Detroit police officer Alex Murphy, who is transformed into a heavily armed cyborg after being brutally murdered in the line of duty. Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox and Kurtwood Smith co-star in a violent science-fiction action film about corporate control, crime and the privatization of law enforcement. The film won a Special Achievement Academy Award for Sound Effects Editing and received two additional Oscar nominations.
