Directed by Lorenzo Gicca Palli, Blackie the Pirate (1971) stars Terence Hill and Bud Spencer in a lighthearted swashbuckling adventure inspired by Emilio Salgari’s pirate novels. Set in the Caribbean during the age of piracy, the film follows rival pirate captains, hidden treasure and conflicts with colonial forces. Blending sword fights, sea adventure and comedic chemistry between Hill and Spencer, the film became one of the duo’s more unusual European genre collaborations.
